Janine Jansen plays Mozart

Come and listen to violinist Janine Jansen on 19, 20 or 22 January. Together with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, she is performing Mozart’s Fourth Violin Concerto under the direction of Herbert Blomstedt. We very much look forward to sharing the stage again with one of our favourite guests!

Janine Jansen has performed over fifty times with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in violin concertos by composers ranging from Bartók to Britten and from Bruch to Berg. It’s a long list. In Jansen’s own words, ‘There have been so many wonderful experiences we’ve shared. When I think of my connection with the orchestra, “trust” is the first word that comes to mind.’ (Preludium, March 2021)

The violinist says she’s ‘grown in how I listen to what the orchestra passes on to me and how to blend. I’ve become more aware of what’s happening around me. The Concertgebouw Orchestra has contributed to my musical growth every single time we’ve performed together.’

Remarkably, their collaboration has never centred on Mozart before. Jansen now teams up with the orchestra in his Violin Concerto No. 4, which is sure to be in good hands.

After the interval, Herbert Blomstedt leads the orchestra in Bruckner’s ‘Romantic’ Fourth Symphony.
